Image
Hiba with the AIESEC volunteers When Hiba first heard about the Global Volunteer program offered by AIESEC, she was intrigued but very hesitant. At 22, having never left her hometown of Amman, the idea of spending six weeks alone volunteering in Ahmedabad, India, was exciting and intimidating. However, driven by a desire for growth and adventure, Hiba chose to step out of her comfort zone & what awaited her was a transformative journey she never imagined possible. landing in India, Hiba was immediately stunned by the bustling streets, vibrant colors, and a culture vastly different from her own. Her project involved working at a local NGO that supported education initiatives for underprivileged children. Initially, adapting was challenging; the language barriers, spicy food, crowded roads, and humid climate tested her resilience daily. Yet, despite initial discomfort, Hiba found comfort and joy within the walls of the small, lively classroom where she taught English & arts. Ea...

The Power of Taking Action separately vs. Community

Flying Solo: The Lone Wolf Approach  Taking action alone isn’t just for introverts – it’s a power move that comes with some serious perks: Doing things on your own doesn’t always mean you are an introvert and can have its benefits like, doing everything on your own speed without asking anyone or waiting for anyone, facing challenges on your own & pushing your limits to grow even more or being able to make your own schedule. If you’re a night owl you can work at 2 AM on your project or you can wake up at 6 AM and be more productive than ever.  But before thinking this way is the best way, let’s look at some of the cons: Limited resources like time of only one person or energy of only yourself can immensely affect the outcome of your work or without diverse perspectives and revisions you can miss some very crucial points of views in your work. But most importantly, when you are working alone your motivation can fluctuate in very unexpected times, with no one to hold y...
